About Me

Hi, I’m Leah!

Hi, I’m Leah—longtime nanny, kid enthusiast, and your go-to guide behind The Nanny Confidant. My love for caregiving started young (picture me at the kids’ table every holiday), and by age twelve, I was already babysitting the neighbor’s toddler with a confidence only a kid from Iowa could have. At nineteen, I packed my bags and moved to Washington, D.C. for my first full-time, live-in nanny job—and I’ve been joyfully devoted to this work ever since.

For nearly two decades, I’ve celebrated first steps, coached through tantrums, soothed tears, encouraged independence, and been greeted by countless excited driveway squeals. I’ve traveled with families, supported them through big life transitions, and had a front-row seat to the everyday magic that happens when kids feel loved and understood. I adore those “aha!” moments when something clicks, the inside jokes that grow over time, and the way children light up when they feel safe with you.

But my heart isn’t just with the kids—it’s with the whole village. Over the years, I’ve heard countless parenting questions at parks, in grocery store aisles, and on playdates. I’ve also seen how isolating caregiving can be and how much better things go when parents and nannies truly understand each other. That’s why I created The Nanny Confidant: a place where families and caregivers can find encouragement, guidance, community, and a little bit of calm.

Whether you’re a parent who needs clarity, a caregiver who needs connection, or someone looking for practical communication tools, I’m here with experience, empathy, and a warm sense of humor. Supporting families lights me up—and I’m honored to walk alongside yours.
